Belle & Bête & Burt is a tale of crisis, confrontation and creativity
When misfortune befalls a family of country mice, creative and resourceful Belle and her father, Burt, must make a new life in the city. Burt is soon confronted by a ferocious (but talented) natural predator!
Can the beast overcome his own trauma, stifle his natural appetites and benefit from this unusual encounter with his prey? The story unfolds with fabulous costumes, humor, sprightly plot twists and a deep understanding of how to navigate a conflict-riddent world.
Belle & Bête & Burt began as a collaborative theatre piece
It was performed in Spanish with video, live actors, and musical accompaniment in Pátzcuaro, Michoacán with the Campamento de la Paz at the Teatro Emperador Caltzontzin on November 12, 2025.
